Bus and Tram Transport in Prague, Czech Republic
Buses in Prague mainly cover the outskirts of the city as the centre is very well served by trams & the underground. The majority of the buses do link up with the Metro which is what makes exploring Prague so accessible for visitors. Bus 119 runs from the Airport to the Dejvická metro station . It is a very convenient service and an inexpensive way to get to your Prague Hotel from the Ruzyn? airport. A transfer ticket costing 12 KZC can be purchased or else you can pay 15 KZC when boarding the bus. Journey time is approximately 20 minutes to Dejivicka and from there you can continue using your transfer ticket to your Prague Hotel as long as it is still within the valid time period.
Trams in Prague serve a large area of Prague city with over 500 kilometres of tracks. The trams are generally very punctual, running every 8 – 10 minutes from 4.30 am until midnight. Conveniently for tourists and those who like Prague’s nightlife, night-trams run from 12.30 am until 4.30 am every 40 minutes. Tickets must be validated by getting stamped by the machine just inside the doors. Trams drive on every large road and mostly they stop at the metro lines. After midnight the night-trams drive about every 40 minutes.
